Youth History Camp

The Youth History Camps are for 1st through 6th graders.  Camp meets on the second Saturday of each month at the Historical Society of Decatur County Museum 9 -11 am.  Space is limited to 10 participants per camp. If we have more people interested we will add a second session for the same topic. Registration is required, cost is $5 per child. January 13, 2024 - "Lost Landmarks of Indianapolis." During January the "Lost Landmarks of Indianapolis" exhibit will be at the Historical Society of Decatur County Museum in the gallery. History Camp participants will have a chance to explore the exhibit and learn about some of the buildings that no longer exist in Indianapolis. There will also be information about buildings that are no longer standing in Decatur County.

 

​February 10, 2024 - "Leap Year" Participants will learn about Leap Year.​

 

March 9, 2024 - "Historical Documents" Participants will look at some of the historical documents that are in the Historical Society of Decatur County files. They will learn why the documents are important to local history and how to read them.​
